Hands, Head, Health of Uvalde, Inc. a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, operates the Herby Ham Activity Center as a community center. Herby Ham's philosophy was that busy hands and active, productive minds lead to better physical, mental and spiritual health and the Center embodies his vision. Anyone aged 18 and over may use the facility.

The new 21,000 square foot building is now open for business. It houses an auditorium, commercial kitchen, gift shop, craft studios, meeting room, game area, indoor pool, hot tub and fitness room. A 3,000 square foot woodworking shop has been erected on the site.  The Center has no memberships and receives no government assistance. Community groups are able to have their meetings at the Center during regular business hours free of charge. Meeting rooms, auditorium and kitchen can be rented for events. Many classes and other activities have no fee and those involving instructors are offered at very reasonable rates.
